Usually, the last week of October or around the very beginning of November. Some of the leaves are just starting to change this weekend. Our sourwood has almost all of its leaves gone, though. That's a week or two earlier than last year.

I don't think it has been cool enough for the leaves to change. It changes every year, there really isn't a set time when peak hapens. It all depends on the weather and the past seasons rain amount.
Leaves are turning brown and starting to drop where I live but no flashy display of color yet.
Pam

The official Tennessee Fall site is saying from Oct. 11-18 you'll start to see some.
You can keep track of it here:

Last year in Knoxville the prettiest were the week of Nov 4th. Now higher up in the mountains the leaves will change earlier.

you'll see it Dave. The higher elevations, the mountains are in color now - almost peak. This weekend the colors are just starting in the foothills. Next weekend and the weekend after will be peak in Sevier County. I assume the same is happening in the Cumberlands but I don't know. If the rain continues, the leaves will fall off too soon.

I just came through the Cumberlands today and the leaves are beginning to get colorful.

Dave, you'll need to plan a trip to the higher elevations.

Will do. I'll be visiting my property, which is located at the top of a small ridge in the Copper Ridge foothills. Also, I'm taking a road trip to Bristol to view some houses for sale for my brother, and hopefully squeeze in a sight see at Cade's Cove.
