I'm thinking about renting in Knoxville before my house sells here ....I've been on different sites and see the rental prices but can ya'll help me out on knowing about what the utilities run ?? I'm thinking a small 2 bedroom house OR apartment for me and 3 kids .....
water
elec.
trash
sewer
phone

What about internet too ? Do you get it through cable or land phone ?
How much does that run ? Any help here , I appreciate !

Bill and I have a 2 BR, 2 bath 1000sq,ft. apartment, we keep the thermastat on 71 and hes up all night, I'm awake during the day, our electric useage averages about 120.00 monthly. Trash and water is included in our rent. My phone, internet and cable is bundled with the same company for about $110.00 monthly. My internet is cable high speed.
But remember your electric may be higher because you have 3 kids and it is just us.

These things will vary. A small 2bd house can average about

water -$30
elec. - 100-140 (If there is no gas and everything is electric)
trash - Mostly included in Association dues
sewer - Included with water
phone - Some great companies that provide VoIP and I am actually using one for 15 a month.

For internet, you can go comcast for 20bucks a month for 6 months then it jumps to 55+ a month.
You can get cheap internet from AT&T for 25 bucks a month.

Thanks!

Association dues are usually paid on a house in a sub division or a condo or townhome. VOIP is voice over internet, which can be a company like Vonage and long distance is included in your monthly charge, so it is unlimited long distance.

Very, very cheap electric here, thanks to the TVA.

Trash is paid through your city taxes if you are within the limits.

Internet is pretty much the same anywhere. AT&T has DSL internet through the phone line and Comcast offers cable internet.

I think the water and sewer might be a little high. It was very high in Powell. About $60 a month. Runs us about $45 in Knoxville.
