Yes i have driven through when i was on vacation last fall. It's a nice drive throughout. We saw a lot of deer on the side of the roads. Has many old historic buildings from years and years ago to show the history of how people lived back then with their original homes and churches. It really is a nice drive and beutiful views all around.

You can look it up online. just Google Cades Cove Tennessee

It's gorgeous! Take your bikes or a picnic. You need a few hours to drive through. Be sure to pull over and explore a few spots. It's really a great picture of what life would have been like in the Smokies in the early 1900s.

your not too far from what they call "Tail of the Dragon" that's quite an interesting ride too. 318 curves in 11 miles of road. So many switch backs, a friend of mine and her son got car sick from the curves. there is also a web site for "tail of the dragon" with pictures of semi trucks getting stuck because they are such idiots who think that road is okay for them to pass on. It's quite a site to see.

KC38506 is right on about the suggestion to take bikes into Cades Cove. Some days (particularly weekends) it can be sooo crowded in there with all the cars, it's literally bumper-to-bumper all the way around the loop. It's fairly flat and easy to do on a bike, and I think it's much more enjoyable on a bike.

There are a few places where you can pull your car off to the side of the road and park. I've been in Cades Cove before where there were sooo many cars, people were parked all over the place and not just in the parking areas, and the traffic was still bumper-to-bumper. But I hope it won't be like that for you this weekend. It really is a spectacularly beautiful area with some fascinating history.
