OK, I'm convinced that crime is not a problem for everyday folks. For my second huge concern: what about winters. I hate cold weather, snow, ice onmy car, etc. Any thoughts on this? thanks to you all.
Here is a page link that will give you a synopsis of the climate in Las Cruces.

Well, while this winter has been a little colder and wetter than normal, as someone who relocated from the NYC metro area, it has still been very pleasant compared to what I'm used to. We had a couple of days with a bit of snow, but it doesn't hang around except on the mountain tops.
There have been very few days when it didn't warm up to at least 40 during the day, and, while most of the country is digging out this weekend, we are looking forward to sunny days with temps in the low 60s. Cannot complain.

You'd laugh at what gets called snow around here and ice on your car? It doesn't happen. You sometimes will get a little thing layer of frost that melts quickly a way when you turn on the defrost -- if you leave your car out but usually because there's so little moisture you don't get frost.
Here no one has snow shovels, almost no one would have an ice scraper. You never hear the sound of snow plows although I believe they keep one or two because maybe once a decade or so, it snows a little.
It does snow but it's usually about a quarter of an inch at the most and it's gone in the morning. It's more common to go from October to July with extremely little precipitation than it is to have more than one or two days of it.
