I try to avoid big box stores and online places like amazon whenever I can in order to support the local community.

So where are the best places in Las Cruces to buy new things for a house? Preferably locally owned and operated stores.

Especially furniture at reasonable prices (not cheap Ikea stuff, but we're not plopping down the equivalent of a house down payment on a living room set either).

Thanks!

Ikards is the local furniture store here. My wife and I were in the market for some upgrades recently, but found Ikard's to be on the expensive side. We ultimately drove to Bassett in West El Paso and bought there instead.

Furniture Row on Telshor is another location, but they are also on the expensive side. Also I believe those stores are regional chains.

I recently came upon a small NM-based factory for basic bed frames (nothing fancy) and organic mattresses at reasonable prices: Sachi Organics in Albuquerque. I'm pretty sure they ship to other parts of the state.

Ooh, nice, the frames don't inspire me but I like the idea of eco-friendly mattresses and pillows!

Thanks!

Correct, we both love our recent purchase from Bassett. That store wasn't around until some time last year.
