I live in Abiquiu on the Chama. For the past 15 years we have had fireflies at our house. Each year there are more. There's not as many as I've seen in states like Illinois and New York but we see maybe 10-15 every evening in the summer. For some reason they come right up to our screens and fly up and down against them.

I've never seen them here. I miss them from my childhood back east.

Daughter and grand daughter on flight home from abq to Illinois now for a visit. I know the grand daughter probably never has seen many or any so hoping the few still blinking around will put on a show for her tonight
