Just one more reason not to go to the Indian casinos and any casino in Kansas. Could you imagine a casino on the strip that would not give comp drinks? It would be empty.

Any casino owner, in their right mind, would be a fool to stop the unlimited free drinking while gambling. While it does cost the casino to pour the booze...it brings in a lot more than it pays out. The looseness created by the alcohol is what makes people spend more at the slots and tables, where the house makes its money. When people are in their right [non-alcoholed] minds...they don't go crazy...in mind, nor wallet.

Unfortunately, I had to learn this the hard way. I once took my 2 week paycheck to the casino to get cashed. I thought I would drink and gamble a bit. Sure enough, the whole check was gone by the end of the night.
Needless to say, I no longer bring any cash with me when I go out. I take a credit card that has the pin disabled. I can buy drinks or food, but no cash.

I set myself a limit for each night, if I lose that amountI stop. But you're right, the free drinks sure loosen yourgambling inhibitions, you've got to be careful. Is this a major problem with locals? Meaning not knowing whento stop?

Needless to say, I no longer bring any cash with me when I go out. I take a credit card that has the pin disabled. I can buy drinks or food, but no cash.
