The stupidest question I've ever been asked? Somebody once asked me if I'm human!

I've lived in 5 states. Three of them are at the top of the list for stupid questions: New Mexico, Nevada, and West by god Virginia, in that order of stupid queries.

At least they:

a. Know we ARE a state even though they couldn't find us on a map;

b. Know we (probably) speak English, and you don't need to buy foreign postage to mail a letter;

and 3. Wear shoes.

At least they didn't ask you if you were a homo sapiens like someone asked me. I let them know right off that I'm straight, by god.

AND we live in what is, probably, the best known city in the world.
When I lived in France, we went to an open market to buy coffee and spices from two guys from French Equatorial Africa.
One day they asked where we were from [they spoke not ONE WORD of anything but French and their tribal language] I, without thinking, replied Denver since that was my home of record for the Air Farce.
This was met with a blank look as if they had NEVER heard the word....so I said LAS VEGAS [since I had been stationed at Nellis]. IMMEDIATE BIG grins and wide eyes as they repeated LASSS BEGASSSSSS......

NEVER heard of Denver but they KNEW Las Vegas.

Don't tell people you are from Las Vegas in places where tipping is not required. Suddenly they think you are good for a big tip anyway and they start demanding one.

If I remember correctly, several "midnite" shows began at 11:30 pm.
