You're young...so it's quite excusable.
I have lived in Michigan, Colorado, Florida, and Georgia. It's not like I havent experienced other places to live. I have a job, and they are paying all moving expenses. All of the warnings had to do with the job market and expecting everything to be rainbows and butterflies. I am a city girl, I'll be fine...

Wow...you moved around quite a bit...almost all 4 quadrants of Continental US! You did say you were fresh out of college, correct? Just curious...is LV the first place you'll be living under your own means?

Yep! and Nope! I have lived on my own in North Carolina (I forgot that one on the list) as well as in Atlanta.

Make your life simple. LIve in Henderson....I suggest Green Valley Ranch...find a little house. There are also some reasonably priced condos right behind the Green Valley Ranch Casino....complete with guarded gates and you can stroll over to the District in the evening if it hits you.

Seven Hills is OK in the middle...the lower end is a little too "lower" and the upper end a little to "McMansion" (No offense Spraynard - I call em like I see em)

You can also get a great deal on a condo in Lake Las Vegas. There are furnished condos with all utilities included (electric, gas, A/C, internet, cable, phone etc) for around $1,100.00 per month. Its about 10 mins from Green Valley. It's a nice area on a lake with a village with restaurants. I just did stand-up paddling on the lake as well as rented a kayak.. which is about 100 feet from the village condos. LLV has some issues in the past, but things are back on the right track. Rumors are that the casino will be opened again soon.

No offense taken. I have seen more than a few customs up there and they melted my brain. You seem hard to impress, though. Street of dreams 1998, 2000 and 2002 (McDonald/McMansion Higlands) were pretty remarkable to me.

Pardee has built quite a few homes up there I would definitely consider McMansion class (but I like McMansions, sue me).

For the OP:

Green Valley is pretty easy to figure out by neighborhood from north to south, respectively. The unnamed areas bordering and north of Warm Springs Road, evidenced by some areas with asphalt tile roofs(circa 1978-1988), Village of Silver Springs (circa 1988-1990), Legacy (circa 1990-1994), and Green Valley Ranch (1993-2002). Green Valley encompasses about 8000 acres of land.

Green Valley South is without question the nicest and newest area but also higher density (and boxy homes, less interior detail, more of the homes footprint taking up the lots). I think the floorplans built just about anywhere in Vegas between 1990-1996 were the most innovative. It's a shame that in many neighborhoods of that era they also show their age (loads of white, pink and yellow exterior paint. The Legacy area has some nicely designed homes and some of the neighborhoods have aged okay.

Olecapt is right, Seven Hills has some neighborhoods that are a bit dated and average at best, but the topography is interesting (lots of hills, duh), the landscaping is lush and there are little details throughout the neighborhood that are rather neat in my book. The streetlamps, the details on all the block walls are Greecian themed (Some might say it's tacky, thats cool), but traffic south of St. Rose Parkway makes traffic in Seven Hills (Anthem, too) a bit dicey.
