Exactly, the same thing happened when Aria opened. There weren't all of these new great jobs. It was basically an excuse for other properties to down size without having to pay out the unemployment benefits. Sure new jobs are going to be created, and that is great, but the number of good jobs that are full time with benefits aren't going to suddenly open up. From a company stand point it makes perfect sense in an economy like this. Like you said, you can promote from within and then pad up on the bottom with extras. I was laid off from my job (because I had a high social security number) and this is exactly what they have done. Instead of bringing any of us back they just promoted from within. Eliminated a whole bunch of benefits.

Dealers: Out for them, not for you!

Because one of the hiring bosses is from the Wynn, many Wynn dealers (who have the worst attitude in the city) got hired at Cosmo. So I don't want to hear about giving jobs to people that need them. They are the highest paid dealers on the strip and pretty much got first dibs on dealer jobs at Cosmo. I agree with you that you can't believe most of these people.

The Aria brought most of its employees from its other properties,Very few outside applicants where hired. When I first came to town a decade ago, people where telling me that its not what you know, but who you know. They where right!Every time a new property opened, the department manager brought there own people. The Wynn brought most of its F&B people from Bellagio. No different here.I wish everyone the best of luck.I am sweating out the process also!

I have been in the business for seven years and it is crazy. I didn't apply for a dealer job either.
FYI. The dealers at the Wynn are excellent dealers and good people. Only one person in 1400 applicants was hired when Wynn opened. I think that says something about the dealers and floor people. The first two years they made the place what it was...until doomsday when Steve Wynn gave their tokes away. They have just had it with being screwed over by Steve Wynn. We all have. A person can only take so much. Morale is extremely low there in all departments. I am in management at the Wynn and I see it every day. BTW...I'll be at the Cosmo in a casino management position...goodbye Wynn!!

Why is morale so low?I thought Wynn employees were back to working 8 hour days?A friend of mine related a story told to him by a brother of a mutual acquaintance. His friends brother is an A lister at Wynns banquet dept.Seems like the brother applied at Cosmo, and at his third interview,Cosmo HR asks why is he leaving Wynn,or is he looking to get on the C list.My friend never finished the story, but he had me wondering why on earth an A lister is looking for another gig. Also,it seems that Cosmo is not interested in future employees holding second jobs. They asked me about my current job interfering with there schedule.I told them if I had a firm job offer from them,I would give notice.Tomorrow is my third interview.I will post the process right after.

See everybody says different things. "Morale is low. Why is morale low because I heard..." never trust anybody!! Best luck to everyone trying to get what they are applying for including me! As long as I get hired I hope everyone else does!
