Well sorry to say this but anyone applying for bellman its over for that position. I went back to work today after having my 2 days off and 3 bellman I work with got offers. I got the cell number of the guy who interviewed all of us and called him and he said most of the position are full and I should just wait for a email(We all know what that is). This company is a bunch of BS how they talk about wanting to be different then the rest. I called Cosmo on a weekly basis for the past 4 weeks and they kept telling me everything looked good and I should be getting a call soon. They kept me hanging on for weeks. One guy told me they dont send out generic emails telling people they didnt get the job, THATS BS also. Watch and see as they start to close these positions now everyone will start getting the rejection emails that are automaticlly sent to everyone for that position. I cant believe I was going to leave a fulltime position at a 4 star hotel for this place. They are wrong for leading people on when all of us have called the employment center for weeks. Its like they just wanted to make sure they had enough people.

I agree with you 100%. I applied the first day they starting accepting applications for my position. I had my first interview right away and they called me the next day for a second one. I was told at the second one I would hear end of Oct or beginning of November. Problem is I know that people are pretty much all hired for this department. There is nothing that is going to be different about this place. It is basically the same people that were standing around somewhere else now standing around here. The commercial is cool, but so what. I know a lot of the people that have been hired in table games and they are some of the rudest and most boring people I know. I don't really care if I don't get this job because I am going to school anyway to get out of the business completely. It just bothers me that they pretend like they want unique and interesting people and than hire all of their friends. I hope people that actually really needed a job (not just cried about the one they have now) get an opportunity here. Good luck everyone.

I have to agree with both of you: the Cosmo likes to talk the talk, but when push comes to shove, they don't walk the walk. Their entire effort reeks of a clever P.R. campaign to convince applicants that THIS hotel-casino will be DIFFERENT. It's just a lot of baloney. A slick campaign.

The Cosmo is just like any other new place in that many of the desirable jobs there will be given to people with some sort of "juice" or connection to a manager who can green-light their application.

And their claim that they don't hire people who just "look good on paper" is also a crock. Most managers do exactly that. So if you don't have lots of experience in other luxury Strip properties, the chances are remote that you'll have any shot at the Cosmo. Just a fact of life.

Finally, it is absolutely SHAMEFUL how they have kept people waiting and waiting and waiting...to receive their rejection emails. I spoke to a lady in the H.R. office and she openly admitted that they do this for their own convenience, to have "back-up" candidates in case people don't pass their drug tests, backgrounds, etc., or don't accept the offer. DISGUSTING!

That's standard. I was surprised that they had even sent out any rejection letters at all. Lots of organizations don't bother with them anymore because of the volume of applicants. A property that's scrambling to get ready for a big, splashy opening has a lot more to worry about than that.

I'll go out on a limb and say the last few posts where from people who are bitter because they didn't get the job. Same thing happened last year with the City Center forum. "the place will suck......it will close in a year.....it's so ugly...."blah blah blah

I think thats wrong , so wrong....

I see employees from philipines, or china, hawaii,or mexico stick them together at their work places, speaking their languages in the front of only english speaking people..... i just think thats wrong and make other people look not good
They need people who can communicate with the new millionaires coming from China. What good is speaking Italian when you're trying to cater to Asian customers? When European customers provide the level of play that Asian customers are, make sure you apply.

About the couple of comments about the nationalities sticking together in this thread. There is some
truth to this. In the past certain hiring managers would hire a certain nationality due their own opinion on the nationalities work ethic or just over their own personal fetish. Then you get a few bad apples hired that cry discrimination due to their heritage or nationality and get litigious, Most
of the rest join and class action law suits are settled out of court costing the resort $. Allot of the resorts are now adopting new risk management policies to make each department more diverse culturally and HR is now making hiring managers more accountable for who they hire.

First of all, it's butler...not BUTTler. We don't appreciate that.

Secondly, Cantonese isn't "chinese or whatever," it's one of the two main languages of the country that produces the most whales who demand a high level of service (Mandarin being the other one).

Third, you need to use capitalization for places like China and Mexico, not to mention at the beginning of your sentences. If you wrote your resume or cover letter like you wrote this post...that's wrong, so wrong....

Elementary grammar is a prerequisite at this level.

Could you please give me that number so I can get my answer to all this? You can send it to my E-Mail: mrrpoker@gmail.com. Thanks!
