Maybe the harder(longer) it takes to fill the position, the longer(harder) it will take to release/fire the person from that position. Which is a good thing.....At least thats how it is for government jobs(fed).

I got the "Thanks for your interest, but we don't want you" letter on Friday the 13th. I didn't notice it until today because it was sent from an unmarked automailer.

One thing I've learned over the years working in poorly managed companies: in the presence of complete chaos, a lot of opportunities exist that wouldn't otherwise be possible.

Thanks, Just2. It makes me wonder why they didn't hire me. What did I do wrong? My sister seems to think that I don't know how to do an interview. The way they let you know that they don't want you is rather impersonal. They could at least say why they don't want you, and what you did wrong.

sorry you didn't get it Aqua but remember...businesses are in the business of hiringin employees not traint people in how to get a job....telling you what you did wrong or why they didn't hire you would open them up to even more lawsuits then they already get....

True, but it'd still be nice to know. Also, why should my credit score have anything to do with how I'll do the job?

It don’t, but in the real world. Lots of delinquent credit and a history of short term residency will raise flags and make you ineligible for hire

IMHO, that's complete BS. With these hard economic times there are a lot of people with bad credit. How are you supposed to pay your bills when you don't have any money? Are they worried that I'll steal from them? All they need to do is look at my criminal record, which consists of a couple of traffic violations over 15 years ago, back when I lived in California. If I was such a heinous felon, I wouldn't have been cleared by the FBI to work for the Census.

they are worried that they will be innundated with garnishments and creditor calls....they don't have the time to handle those because to the company they are not important....
