I've never been garnished, and only had one creditor call years ago, and I told them never to call me at work again, or they'll get me fired.

Von: It probably depends on the federal agency. The Census was quick to fire people. Wrong doing is one thing, but to have your continued employment hinge on the ego trips of your supervisors is another.

Auqua, the employers don’t give two sh@ts about you if you live or die let alone paying your bills. The bean counters and risk management have statistics that show that people with money problems have a tendency to steal. They just won’t submit to the risk when they have workforce of plenty to choose from. These days you have to be on top of your game and keep a squeaky clean record to gain employment. You may disagree all you want. But this is the world we live in now.

There are plenty of people who've stolen from their jobs who've got perfect credit scores, and squeaky clean records. They just haven't been caught yet. It's still a rotten way to deny employment to those who're going through a rough patch.

Yes it is and it may become illegal soon if a certain federal law is passed. I sure don’t agree with the practice. It’s the just the current practice with major employers.

I was applying for a job with AZ Charlies, and that was one the requirements of employment. Even if the law gets passed, will the employers follow it?

Yup and they can do things like look on facebook and other such sites to see if you posted "unsavory" photos. (this is an indicator to determine if you use good judgement)

When the bean counters determine the stats of the lawsuits and GOV fines overweigh the employee theft %. Then yes they will follow it.

Aqua, if i knew what kind of work you was willing and capable of doing in the casino industry. I could point you in the right direction where you would have a chance. Get with somebody willing to work with you and get a strong professional resume together. Since you passed the FBI background check for the Census. Getting NVGCB registration will not be a problem.

At this point, Mojave, I'm pretty much willing to do anything. I've got a total of 12+ years of experience as a PBX Operator, Front Desk Clerk, and Concierge. In my years in the hotel business back in the Napa Valley, you had to do a bit a bit of everything. DM me your email address, and I'll send you my resume (Microsoft Works format). That is, assuming my brother in law let me get on his computer. He's purposefully turned it off before he left for work. I asked him how I'm supposed to look for work, and he thinks that I should walk (long story) to look for work. There's not much available within walking distance of W Charleston and Buffalo.
