Yes, I saw the watering of the 18th fairway of Reflection Bay from my window on Saturday. It went on for hours! Both the Falls and Reflection Bay do appear to be coming back to life! I'm seeing green returning.

@Daniel, yes, last summer was probably the worst with the closing of the hotel and casino, but as you mentioned that is all in transition.

I meandered through the village last evening around midnight. I heard something, the sound of music and people having a great time. The Mexican restaurant was rocking! I left there at 1:15 and they were still going. Much of them were from the Ravella hotel. There was a conference with about 400 people this weekend.

While I have no factual information to confirm, I have been told by what I feel is a reliable source that one of both of the courses could be open in June. THe water rights issue is basically resolved, which was a win/win for everyone was the last major hurdle before the sale of the courses. So, we'll see.

There is also a Toyota Camry sitting in front of the casino right now. I heard that there were be 4000 raffle tickets to be sold to raffle of this car over memorial day weekend. This Memorial Day weekend should draw huge crowds!

Sounds like things are going in the right direction for opening. I'll take a ride down there tomorrow and take a look. Only issue is if they open in June, they will be opening in the "off-season" so they will have to deal with not only the heat which will keep golfers away but it will scorch the fairways.

On top of that, they will have to offer discounted rates to get people to play which every other course will attempt to do as well. Once the fall hits, they will be in a much better position to attract top revenue.

The watering is very good news. However, don't expect either to be open before September/October at earliest as turf conditions are still poor and will need overseeding to be playable.

LLV Resident, I've talke to a source who was very close to the golf operation and they agree the $1M price for the Vinyards (The Falls) is very odd. Carmel bought the notes in 2007 from Wells for whatever and then there was the payment you referenced in 2009 for $1M. Who know.....My friend is trying to find out more but for now, let's just be glad there's water being applied and hope for the best.

The watering @ the falls seems to be centered on the frontage grass lining LLV Parkway. I have not seen any watering along the fairways or greens.

Rebel_Fan is correct. I drove over today and the grass lining the roads are being watered so they are nice and green.

I stopped at the village and walked around, there are changes being made as Gothic Groundskeeping was planting plants along the signage and some work being done at the casino. The Toyota was still in front of the casino doors in the courtyard but when I peeked in the doors, there was nothing but an empty space.

Casamar was empty and the "For Lease" signs were still on the windows but I believe LLVResident's report that there will be another tenant soon.

Unfortunately after I walked the 18th fairway of RB, I have concluded that there is no way that either of the courses will be ready by June. It would need an "all hands on deck" overhaul to include overseeding and constant watering. I only saw 1 maintenace worker driving around the clubhouse of RB and sadly the 18th fairway is completely void of grass.

The smart plan of action is to wait a year to get the courses back in good shape; otherwise, any one who goes out to play will be sadly disappointed in the conditions and will spread that to everyone else they know.

I found out today that the South Shore Golf club was just sold to a new company. All cash! I met the GM of the Course. So, there are new/positive things on the horizon for South Shore as well. The best news is the white tent will finally be moving!! The new owners will be creating a new maintenance facility in a different location and the tent will be gone. It is my understanding that the tent is not on property owned by the South Shore course.

GolfinNova, that's too bad that RB has been ruined like that.

There are at least 3 to 4 new tenants moving into the Village on/around May. I actually toured the casino myself today to see the changes. I do have to say that some of the rumors about all of the damage inside appear to be un-true. While there was some damaged wires in the phone room and removal of sconces and the kitchen equipment etc, I didn't see the widespread damages that had been rumored. I think the plan is going to be solid and the casino can grow as needed. The new village entrance will be nice.

I was able to tour the Casino Montelago on Monday. Not much has changed inside just yet. The major construction is to begin this week. I reported in another post, the rumors of all of the major damage done appears to be false. The kitchen was removed, along with some lighting etc, but over all I thought the casino was in good condition. There were phone wires damaged, but the electrical and the carpeting was all fine.

I saw the changes to the space and it looks great and allows room for expansion. There is a huge amount of un-used storage space upstairs that will hopefully be a lounge. I'd like to see a smaler scaled Lucky Strike Bowling alley up there, along with a lounge and pool tables.

Now that I've seen it for my own eyes, I know the casino will re-open on Memorial Day weekend. The press release should be anytime now. I didn't get a clear answer as to why it hasn't been annnounced. Once I find out about them hiring, I'll for sure post that here. The more employee the village has also adds to the viability of the shops and restaurants as the employees need to eat and shop somewhere too!

@ ecco, I've seen that website. That website did name the new operator correctly. I was aware of the operator for some time, but felt it wasn't my place to name them. I heard today that the name of the casino may change. I'm hoping that the new name has "lake las vegas" in it. The problem with "casino montelago" name is that it created an identity issue for Lake Las Vegas. People know Lake Las Vegas, not Montelago. Montelago Village has morphed their marketing towards the "village at lake las vegas". The Montelago Village name created confusion. A factoid is that the actual legal name of the Lake was orginally Lake Adair, which was changed to Lake Montelago.

I'm told the press release for the casino opening and the new name will happen next week. I was also told that a 5th new tenant is on the way to the village. When I'm able, I'll report the names in the LLV update string.

I was told today that a 5th new tenant has been added to Lake Las Vegas village. They should all be opened within the next 6 to 8 weeks. Julie, the Commerical Realtor is doing an amazing job getting the village filled with tenants!!!

I heard that the Casino Montelago may have a new name and the press release will be next week. I'm hoping that the casino name has "Lake Las Vegas" in it as the Montelago created an identity issue and confusion.
