I'm not talking about Elton John or other "Show-y" type concerts.

How's Vegas for your 'on tour' type of concert? Is vegas a regular stop for Metallica/Jay-Z/RHCP sized shows.

What about bands like My Morning jacket/Kings of Leon/Ray Lamontagne?

Thanks!

We've got tix to TV on the Radio and Arctic Monkeys at the Cosmopolitan later this month. And Jay-Z/Kanye are coming soon for a joint gig, but I can't recall the exact details. We've lived here only a short while but have been pretty pleased with the music offerings. Our tastes run the gamut, but we like indie/downtempo/hip-hop. We're looking forward to see who stops here this fall.

I saw Metallica here in 1988 {I think} at the Tomas and Mack center.
That was the last time they came around I think.

The prices are the impressive thing about your list -- in addition to the fact there's something for everyone. I go to a lot of concerts and these are bargain prices compared to Phoenix or Tucson, let alone what people pay back east. I saw the Nils Lofgren show in Tucson on Thursday; I paid $36 in the cheaper seats. (Highly recommended, BTW. He's a phenomenal musician, a solid songwriter, and a very creative performer.)

I recently saw the Avett Brothers at the Silverton. Phenomenal show and totally unexpected that they would show up here. I have a small child so I don't go to shows as often as I used to, but I could probably go every other weekend if I was able to...there are tons of bands in town all the time. I missed Mumford & Sons at the Cosmopolitan but would've loved to have seen that.

Metalllica played with Godsmack at UNLV in either 2000 or 2001. I think 1988 was the last time Metallica did a concert where they only played their good music (Black Album and earlier).

I got addicted to those cheap Tribute Group concerts at the Las Vegas Hilton the last 2 years, and now they're no more!

$25 a ticket, and I found out I enjoyed the tribute groups better than the real thing!

Aeromyth, where art thou?
