Next year, when the banks crash, the government will be giving those houses away...

We are moving here, because when California falls into the sea, we all will have waterfront properties!

That was the social survey in March...

You are misconstruing the question answered. It was "If you could live anywhere you want would it be...."

That does not in any way indicate a desire to leave. Hell I would rather live beach front in French Polynesia than here if there were no practical obstacles.

I like Las Vegas but I can't imagine how any one in their right mind would answer that question Las Vegas.

They may give houses away, but not to you or me.

Have a friend who is on the board of a major insurance company (a lawyer).
Says the homes are in great numbers being sold hundreds at a time to hedge funds.
Interesting times IMO.

EXACTLY! Investors are moving their cash into HARD ASSETS because they know that the banks are screwed.

Mortgages or homes?

Selling homes to anybody requires that you own them....which is a public record. They would then have to be transferred to a new owner with a tax paid...another public record. These would stand out on the local assessors data base like a sore thumb.

One might be able to sell mortgages or parts there of in volume. Be pretty complex on homes.
