As long as it is properly maintained it will do just fine.

I agree and I (a volvo owner) really do not understand the question.

I don't understand the question either.

Are you thinking that because it's a Swedish made vehicle that it only does well in snowy sub-zero climates and not the heat and sand of the desert???

The OP's question reminds me of a question one of my brother's asked me before we moved to Las Vegas: "Won't your tires melt out there while driving in the desert?" I am sure he was kidding. At least I think so.

Only question one should ask themselves is "How will I survive with my no A/C car in Vegas?" Some people do it, but its hell. One time had to ride home with a coworker who had no A/C on a 106 degree July day. I don't know how one can put up with that, but he did.

I used to drive in Phoenix all day doing deliveries in 115 degree heat with no air conditioning. My current car doesn't have ac either. AC is a luxury, not a necessity in a car. In my apartment it is a necessity. See the difference?

I've read comments regarding deterioration of interiors in the hot sun. I also read on another thread that BMWs and other European cars may not run as well as certain other cars in desert conditions
