So, does the realization that unemployment is capped at around $400/week finally change your oft-stated opinion that the unemployed are lazy and just want to sit home collecting unemployment rather than getting a job?

There are still many who will take $400. a week. I would need a couple sets of fingers to count the people here who sit their butt on unemployment rather than work BECAUSE they can.

And theres jobs thatonly pay $100 a week. Whats your point.

I collected the max $423 a week for 6 months last year while I was unemployed for 9 months total. I was not going to settle for a job that paid less than what I was previously earning unless my personal savings where in jeopardy. If I had not filed for the unemployment insurance. It would have gone back into the company coffers of my previous employer. I guess not settling for what my skill set and talent is worth makes me lazy.

you are not understanding my opinion.. if some one is making $1k a week, and unemployment is paying them 400, they are going to get off their butt and find another job..

if some one is making 500 a week, and unemployment is paying them 400 - will they look for another job or just work under the table and collect the unemployment?

sheesh!

Soooo, what does unemployment amounts have to do with this again?

There are those who use the system and those who abuse the system. Fact.

Well glad the morality police are out in force. Obviously being one step from homelessness isnt punishment enough they need someone to berate them for not working at McDonalds. You're a class act congratulations you must make everyone around you miserable.
