I turn 21 on December 23 this year. How good are my job prospects on the strip? I'd like to get into a tipped position and work that once I start school at CSN this spring.

Anything looking good on the strip?

It’s a matter of luck, timing and how well you do on the interviews. You are young and that will work in your favor these days. You dont need experiance or juice for certain jobs. Standing out and making the cut with some luck is what it takes these days.

You should be applying at the Cosmopolitan right now... However, part time is not going to help.. If you can land a full time job, i'd put the school on hold since you will be paying out of state tuition this year anyway.

Indeed. Waiting to be considered a resident is well worth the wait financially. Just don't forget to keep the proper documentation when it comes time to apply.

I have heard that a number of hotels are hiring front desk staff right now. A friend of mine was interviewing to do that just last week. I don't know which places specifically, but several hotels from what I hear, so ask around.

Where you differ from other 21s-to-be is that you are asking about prospective jobs instead of where to go party!

You have a good head on your shoulders, Davie!!! Good luck in your hunt!

Davie . Like i said before I am in the industry and hear about job openings in the tipped industry on a nightly basis. I will keep my ears open for you as you get closer to turning 21. I personally know of 4 places hiring right now. There are plenty of jobs out there if you know the right people and where to look.
