Hey everybody...WE MADE IT!!! Been here for 2 weeks now and still settling in. Can't believe all the rain we have seen in the past 2 weeks.

Wanted to say thanks to everyone for all your help and insight on things unknown/unseen on our part!

Just wanted to pick your brains about marketing the types of businesses
my husband and I operate.

We have a Personal Training business and a Cleaning and Errand Service.

Summerlin and Henderson seem to be some obvious choices in regards to business card and flyer marketing.....?

Any ideas on specific areas/locations around town that meet the demographic we are looking for would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Good luck and don't let our resident doomsday predictors discourage you too much. Cleaning services are widely used in Vegas, and the wealthier areas are big on personal trainers. Nothing is ever easy in this economy, but as long as you can offer a quality service at a competitive price, you've got a shot.

For the personal training, I would focus heavily on Summerlin. Summerlin and the surrounding areas are where the big money is located, and where personal training would be in the highest demand. Cleaning services are used throughout the valley (minus some of the poorest parts), but Summerlin, Green Valley/Anthem, Centennial Hills, and the southwest would be good starting points.

PS: Don't let the rain shock you. It's not usually this heavy.

The 55+ communities -- Sun City Anthem, Sun City Summerlin and others -- have monthly magazines for residents. There are always ads for the kinds of services you're offering. Google for addresses and contact them about the cost of placing an ad. Anthem's is debbie.landry@scacai.com.

Joe. while I appreciate your "encouragement", our businesses are actually still up and running back east. We are not new to pounding the pavement and looking for new clients. We were realistic coming out here and have done research on the competition and know what we need to do.
Don't worry, I will give you an update in 2 months!

As for everyone else, thanks so much for the tidbits of advice. I have found this site to be so helpful over the last few months.

We figured the Summerlin area would be a great area to focus on and have already started planning our marketing stategy. As I stated, we are not new to the business and know what we are in for but we are ready for the challenge.

Kiwikate - Thanks for the info on the 55+ community. That is one thing we did not think of!
We will definitely look into advertising in the resident magazines!

Create a website if you haven't already as well. There are some very cheap deals for hosting out there. Many of them have built in website creators as well with hundreds or thousands of templates.

Already have the websites. Working on getting traffic there. Just looking for some local marketing ideas.

In addition to the websites, facebook pages would be another good idea, if you don't already have them.
