That was Binion Beef....Benny fed that cattle better than most people eat...and in turn, fed the customer the same way....

Yes they are/were ranch owners. Definitely a great steak dinner. Too bad it's gone.

Here are a couple of good ones, Mad Dog and Englishmen Pub on Las Vegas Blvd near Downtown and the Landmark Hotel and Casino. I think there is a Mad Dog and Englishmen Pub on Spring Mtn but the one on Las Vegas Blvd is gone.

The Stardust Hotel and Casino. NEVER should have been demolished. Should have been a national historic place.

I wish Furr's Cafeteria is still around
This! They were our Sunday non-casino buffet. Whenever I am on the 95 going past the Meadow's Mall area, that building is always sitting their vacant, but it looks like their is now work being done, so maybe it's turning into something else.

Does Ceasar's Palace still have the giant IMAX Dome? I haven't been since the early 80s, but last year when Avatar came out and I took my kids to see it in 3-D Imax at the Palms, I was really disappointed that the screen was just a regular large screen, it wasn't a full Dome that surrounded the walls and ceiling.

The Aku Aku restaurant in the Stardust. There has never been a better restaurant in this town. Also, the old Stardust Lounge where some of the top entertainers in the country played, and there was never a cover charge or minimum. Other great lounges were at the Sahara, the Sands, the Trop, and the Dunes.

Vegas Village where you could do all your shopping at one location. It was way ahead of Super Wal-Mart.

Ed Branch Shoes.

The deli in Commercial Center.

The original Cashman Field, along with the Elks Club.

Crusin' Fremont Street.

The Nashville Nevada on Boulder Hiway, and right down the street, the old Drive-In Theater, and across from that, the Italian Village restaurant, and Mary's place around the corner, where you could get silly chili and eggs for breakfast or lunch.

Default Hill Top House

Very close to the best restaurant in Las Vegas. 50's house in only so so repair.

But they could cook...ohh could they cook. Ancient waitresses. linoleum on the floor. Have working john. But ohh they could cook.

Shrinp, steak, frogs legs...all wonderous.

And cheap.

And a bar out of a different era with an absolutely surly bartender who should have been fired but he was the owners son. And boy did he mix a good drink...even if you had to brush away his bile before you drank it.

The ultimate neighborhood place. 95% repeast customers.

Went out of business at the height of the boom to sell the couple of commercial acres and make the family rich...ohh boy what a bad call.

I doubt it could be reopened. Probably grandfathered under every health and safelty code.

But boy was it good...just fabulous...and you could go once a week if you wanted.

Speaking of the Stardust, the Stardust Drive-In Theater behind the hotel, and the Drive-In on Craig Road near Decatur.

Thunderbird Hotel with Thunderbird Downs behind it.

The Silver Slipper with the .79 breakfast, and The Castaways.

Wow, tons of good memories here. Buzz already mentioned the Castaways but I miss breakfast at The Showboat.

The Algiers Motel with its faux palm trees in the front parking lot next to the El Rancho Hotel, a large Western themed hotel.
