This might help someone:
New Year's Eve in Las Vegas - 2010-2011 (Las Vegas Online Entertainment Guide) is apparently up-to-date and trying to keep track of New Year's Eve events in Vegas. I think staying down there will be way out of my price range, but buying a ticket for a party or dinner package sounds fun. A cab ride home is cheaper than a room over there

One question -- do they film 2011's arrival at 9 p.m. on the strip? They "go live" at midnight eastern, no?

They need to drop the name and go for a rebranding that will represent not only their property but the city as well. The city brings in enough visitors this property can get their share but the hotel operator will have to suck it up for spending too much expanding the property. The brand they have now is tired and old and definitely dime a dozen, the hotel needs a new name.

I just stayed at the Hard Rock this past weekend. A couple of random observations: the walk to their Paradise Tower from the lobby entrance is a trek - trivial when stone cold sober, irritating when impaired. I thought their beds were some of the most comfortable beds I've slept on while in Vegas.
