This is awesome news -- now if something would come to Carson City. There are a LOT of us here with heavy manufacturing backgrounds dying for work.

The company is a heavy chemical processor.

Leds generally are produced in semiconductor plants. A 36K SF plant is at best a pilot plant.

Semi plants are pretty big to have a thousand workers. You do not share a semi plant with a manufacturer of fibreglass product.

You could assemble led devices but that is much more a Mexico or Asian thing.

Sorry but it does not compute...and the language being utilized tends to support that. What is it they are making and for who?

California's elections had the issue of green jobs talking about all these enviormental jobs.
Supposedly there were 5000 new jobs about to start before the election, then the next day after the election all those supposed incoming jobs were reported in the Democrat controlled papers as being withdrawn.
I'm with you, except these days I think few things compute at all. :-)

After working in electronics 20 years in Silicon Valley this is the main reason I am not any longer.

The main thing I was responding to in this article are "jobs" and "manufacturing" -- both of which are nearly extinct in Carson City.
