All you people that claim to have gotten a job at the Cosmo must be liars....Forbes, once again says we're the WORST city in the US to find a job.

I gotta tell that to the 257 people that we have hired in the last few months.

Actually....this is good because maybe now people will stop coming here....

I also noticed that the Signature looks really busy during January. 4 days are already sold out and the rest of the month with high occupancy. Something must be up?

Forbes based their list on number of unemployed per job opening and LV was off the charts compared to other cities. Its just math, there is no extra opinion thrown in there.

Well, Forbes is actually correct. Las Vegas has the highest unemployment for a major city in the United States. What Nevada needs is for people to move out of here. For those people that want to move here should have a job in hand. If not, stay the hell away from here. It's a dead zone here.

Nope. Las Vegas is not the worst in the nation and has never been.

May be the worst of the cities people pay attention to though.

And I suspect that the unemployment outside the construction industry is not terribly bad. Certainly not good...but then it is not in much of the US.

And I suspect we have people moving out...particularly the construction folk...but for others it may well be better than most places.

I think that's a little dramatic. If the national unemployment rate is currently 9.8% and the Las Vegas unemployment rate is 14.1%, that just means that the pool of people looking for jobs is ((14.1 - 9.8) / 9.8) = 43.8% larger in LV vs the national avg.

So it's 43.8% harder to get a job here than the national avg. Certainly not good, but I wouldn't call it a dead zone when speaking relative to the current state of "major cities". It's hard just about everywhere.
