Thanks for the input, everyone! As far as my length of stay, I know I'll be in Vegas at least a year...if I love it I might stay permanently.

I won't be buying yet, but if/when I do, would it be better to buy a house or condo? I realize it's a buyer's market right now, but which would be easier to sell if I ended up moving?

I'm sort of leaning towards an apartment in Summerlin or a high rise on the Strip right now...does anyone know who all lives in the high rises? Is it mostly young professionals, or rich college students, casino people, etc...?

Thanks again for all the help!

Strippers/hookers, retired folks, and non-resident foreigners.

The best rental I know of, in terms of management, is Wellington Meadows, on Sahara by the Sahara Library branch. It's in Peccole Ranch so there are lots of walking trails just outside the gate, plus close to shopping and a multiplex movie theater. The 1 BR I saw was tiny but well-maintained.

I think I am a young professional (is 36 young?) currently living in Allure (Sahara and LVB). I love the location and building. Very close to the strip, downtown, and freeway.

There is a very healthy mix of people there. Old, young, etc.

Yes there are some strippers and shady looking people occassionally but I am very open-minded.
