Hi everyone, I'm moving to Las Vegas for my job, and I'm having a hard time figuring out where to live. I'm hoping to find an apartment complex that caters to young professionals. I'm single, and I'd prefer to be surrounded by other adults with no children. I'd like to live somewhere relatively quiet, but with easy access to downtown Las Vegas. The Summerlin area looks really nice, but I'm concerned that it's mostly families there. My budget isn't all that strict; I'm more concerned about the place than the price.

Thanks so much for any input and have a great week!

Cheers,
Penelope

South strip. Manhattan, Park Avenue...89123.

Downtown..Soho or Newport or the houses in Park etc.

All the other areas will be family/couple oriented.

My friend is a community director for a few properties in the southwest region. Very nice, very quiet, and still within 10 minutues of the south end of the strip. I was the very first resident at Spectrum, which opened last year, and loved how quiet it was, or still is. Not many kids compared to your average community, mainly because it is still relatively new and growing. It borders the 215, which can be taken to either the 15 or Summerlin Pkwy. I will add that it is a bit more expensive than most, but if you have the money to spend, I would say go for it.

Not too close to downtown though if that is your thing. But then again, you will not find anything quiet in that location for sure lol....

I fell in love with Spectrum as well but decided on Mosiac instead (Riley Ave.) Great luck.

Driving down Durango, Mosaic looks nice, a large complex though but near the 215 and a beautiful park, Red Ridge Park.

By the way for those not familiar with the location, Mosaic Apts and Red Ridge Park is in Spring Valley.

I'm sorry but even though the Ogden looks nice, I've always been told the closer to the strip, the more dangerous the area.
What a shame, it does look nice.

Penelope,

Is your job a temporary one? How long do you plan to live in Vegas? If for longer than short-term I'd suggest buying instead of renting. Housing prices (buying) are at rock-bottom. Rental prices are not.

If you are interested only in renting my general (perhaps faulty) thoughts are these: 1) the higher the rent, the more "professional" and 2) don't rent an apartment in a complex which has 3 bedroom units and a "playground" on premises.

#3 makes a lot of sense. Thank you for that
