When I moved here in 2004 I applied to many casinos. I never even got an interview. I can easily pass a drug test, but I do have a criminal record so I am not going to ever bother with it again.

Just a quick comment about the posted job requirements...Cosmopolitan uses those as a general guideline. Even if you do not meet the minimum job requirements, if they like you, they will overlook those requirements. I know that they overlooked these requirements for several people in different departments.

Except for the high pay, full benefits, free meals, and the 15 paid days off per year that you can start to use after 90 days!

Amen to that. Not too many corporate entities that pay $50K a year without having a skilled trade. Clean and maintain your uniform and pay for your lunch. And get free show tickets, room and meal comps.

Guess I will stick to office work! Seems the hiring processes are so stressful at casinos. Not worth it to me.
not necessarily - i've met you and you have a great personality!

Sure it does along with some common sense and good judgement. The gaming industry is not rocket science.

When answering a question you don't want to stare continuously into the eyes of the questioner. It's ok to look at his/her shoulder. You look like you are concentrating not being deceptive.
Don't look down at your hands. Don't look up to the left or right. Liars look up in the air while they make up answers.

When you are struggling to answer a question it's better to take some time to consider your answer instead of stopping in the middle of sentences or saying ummmm a lot. It makes you look confused.
Try not to blink much when answering hard questions. It's another sign of deception.

Don't twiddle anything. Your feet, your knees, you pencil. Don't touch you nose. It's a sign of agression.
Don't put your hands in front of your mouth unless you cough or sneeze.

Don't slouch but don't be so tense that your back doesn't touch the chair.

Don't cross your arms or legs even if you are cold. Shows you are closed off.

If the interviewer uses his/her hands when talking it's ok to use your a little bit. Subconsciously they will see that you have something in common with them and like you. If he/she nods, you nod a little bit too. Smile if he/she laughs, show it in your eyes but don't laugh like a hyena.

Listen and ask intelligent questions based on what you hear. The interviewer will know that you can take in new information and follow directions.

AND DON'T EVER start a sentence with "to tell the truth." The truth speaks for itself. If you have to give it this prefix what follows is questionable.

Great advice. Especially the s*#& in bold!

It's unbelievable how many pieces of s*#&# people I've met where they act like other people are deceivers and liars, and bad people, and make themselves all out to be a great person. They are easy to spot, b.c great people are humble, and don't blabber on about how good they are and how bad others are. Great people realize that they are imperfect and others have faults for reasons unbeknown to them, and that life is not perfect but practice for everlasting peace.
