Which is better, Southern Highlands or Anthem Highlands?
Crime rate, School, Future investment.

Depends...In general Anthem Highlands built through the peak of the runup. The result is that all of the homes build before 2007 are likely to be heavily under water So Foreclosure city for the next years. As long as you buy low you should be OK financially. Note though that Foreclosures in volume wreck havoc in a neighborhood. And it may be some years before it recovers. It could also end up with a large rental population as a result of all this.

Sourthern Highlands is in much better shape on the Foreclosure front. Much of it was up before the big runup so much less foreclosure activity. I would also expect less non-owner occupied. Check the indivdual tract though. Some were impacted.

Both are fine on schools though the Southern Highlands area is still suffering from growth. Some schools may be crowded and on 12 month schedules.

We looked quite heavily in the SH area for the past 6 months or so. I found that the Bella Terra development was the least desirable. I once drove through a section of it and there was a lone grocery cart in the middle of the street. I liked Toscana Vineyards and San Niccolo. Capparola was ok as was Star Hills.
