Moving from Oregon where a usual monthly rate for RV parking was in the $25-$35 range I was rather shocked to find that the going rate for parking at a storage facility here seems to run $125-$145.

I'm looking for something a lot more reasonable, because if it comes down to paying $100+ per month I'll have no real choice but to sell my trailer. I'm not opposed to driving up to 90 minutes out of town if anyone can recommend a storage facility in an outlying area.

I'm not looking for anything fancy. Covered parking isn't necessary, just a reasonably safe locked & fenced spot with professional oversight. I've seen a couple of people who were effectively selling parking space in their backyard, and that's not the kind of situation I'd trust $20K+ of RV to be safe in.

I would check Craigs List . (... not that I trust it all that much for jobs -lots of scammers...) but there are people who will rent you land/parking on their property for your RV.

Also check RV.net. There might be someone willing to let you park on their property for a low price.

I looked recently for RV storage and it definitely wasn't that expensive. I can't remember the name of the place, but there are two places off 95 & Russell Rd. For 30' space, uncovered, just basically a parking space, it was $45/mo.

I'd ask the storage place how many incidents of theft they've had. From what I've heard, it sounds like there is quite a bit of theft from RV's (contents, not the RV itself) at the storage units even when they have a gate, etc.
