Is it too early to find restaurants offering Thanksgiving dinner menus? Last year the RJ had a list. Is anyone planning on going out to eat for T day? Nice to avoid the cleanup.

Not me. I tend to stay home on Holidays because of the long lines. I have so many opportunities to go out, it's not a big deal. Thanksgiving is one of my faves because I LOVE turkey. I tend to buy up every turkey I can find on sale, roast them and freeze the meat. The bones/leavings go into a huge pot of turkey soup! The stock is usually simmering on the stove before Thanksgiving is even over!

I guess I just like cooking Thanksgiving dishes!

Last year we were unexpectedly in Las Vegas at Thanksgiving, and didn't want to cook as we were leaving just a few days later. We had Thanksgiving Dinner at Marché Bacchus. It was good, but very modest portions so you didn't leave feeling stuffed. $45 per person. Not sure I'd do it again. I much prefer my own cooking at Thanksgiving, even if it means carting the leftovers back to CA in a cooler. If the choice was between a casino buffet and to-go from Honey Baked Hams or even Marie Callendars, I might choose the to-go meal. But I'd rather have a reservation at a restaurant over either of those options.

We have 40-50 people over to the house for "Orphan Thanksgiving", and "Orphan Christmas Eve". Since so many people are transplanted here without family, it's nice to be able to provide a family environment for friends. Have some friends over, have them bring something, and, assuming they are courteous people, you won't have to clean up much

My family and I usually dine out on Thanksgiving in LV. The prix fixe menu at Oscar's downtown is one of our favorites. Many restaurants start publishing their Thanksgiving menus right about this time in October - so expect to see them start rolling out. As always, reservations are advised.

I have been to a couple of these and they were wonderful. Once I had Thanksgiving with an Elvis impersonator and some transvestites. Made for an interesting evening!
