Was wondering if anyone knew how much it would cost to have a live in maid and or nanny in Summerlin or surrounding area?
(large house 5 bdrms over 4500 sq ft)
(3 kids under 5)

Just trying to get a ballpark figure...I know what this costs in New york just not in Vegas.

Thanks in advance.

I would take what you are paying in NY... is in the city? If so... just cut in in half.

These numbers are a bit old, but in 2006 you could get a live-in Hispanic nanny for $500/week if you were paying under the table. If you were paying above board add about 35% to that. For that price you're just getting a babysitter. If you want someone college educated who is really going to help with your children's development (for example, help them with their homework, rather than just make sure they do it), be prepared to pay more.

You might want to contact a placement agency. Their cost is typically around a month's salary of the person they place ($2k). Many nannies consider the children their main responsibility, and will not want to do any housework, other than feeding the kids, so you may need a housekeeper and a nanny.

remember also, it's +50% if they have papers and +100% if you live next door to an ICE agent.

Ummm...Hispanic and college educated are mutually exclusive? Hispanics could not help with homework? If you mean "illegal" then say illegal. "Hispanic" doesn't necessarily mean uneducated OR illegal. Don't mean to be difficult, but sometimes the level of automatic stereotyping in the Las Vegas area really gets to me. Those among us who are Hispanic or who have Hispanic/Mexican origin/Latin loved ones, tend to get a little prickly about this attitude. Geez...look at your Governor...

Yes, but what they get in LV are the real deal, high-caliber Hispanics! They're not just a bunch of PR gang members from Brentwood.

In LV...they get nannies like Maria Poppino!

what you pay all depends on what your budget is.
if you want top notch nanny, you should go through a service. same for live-in domestic help.
so start there: contact a couple of agencies for each and get what your top dollar rate would be.

if that is too much for your budget, you have to prioritize: high priced nanny + live out maid,
low priced nanny + live in maid, or low priced nanny and live-out maid.

at least you would know what the high threshold is for your search.
