Sometimes a realty company that does vacation rentals will offer a caretaking service, usually for a small fee.

There is a commercial with two guys in a smart car and this is all they do... I couldn't find them with Google, but someone else might chime in below before I figure it out.

Not the same one I saw the commercial for, but Google found one. http://www.condostocastleslv.com/las_vegas_absentee_home_care_services.htm (broken link)

Google "las vegas house sitters".

I had a similiar situation about a year ago when I was stationed overseas. Think I remember seeing one or two companies that looked fairly respectable. Rates were from $40-$100/mo depending on what services you wanted (ie, can just do visual "inspections" of the property from outside, or can water your plants, flush your toilets and run your water, etc etc). They offer daily/weekly/monthly visits to your property. I ended up just moving the wife from san diego instead (though in hindsight, would have been waaay cheaper to use the house-sitting service).

Default Really??

I wonder how honest these house sitting services are.
They could hang out in your house all day long and enjoy nice air con and swimming pool. And you won't know anything about it.

Install a surveillance system with web viewing, or if you think they're really dumb, just install a few decoy cameras.

A number of the property management companies will do the task for a reasonable fee.

I like the sound of the outfit presented above but I would counsel caution. He is not licensed either as a property manager or a contractor. Thus you are running off faith in his character to getting the task done.

And if one of his employees happens to throw a party at your house I guess you could sue him.
