I live downtown San Diego. Insurance from every carrier. I mean EVERY CARRIER is 50% higher in Vegas than here. We are moving to Vegas, and we were thinking about not switching our plates, but I heard Vegas cops go after people from California if they don't switch. So you people that think insurance is not higher in Vegas than anywhere in southern California are fools!!

Well, I'm moved here from Orange County CA and our insurance went DOWN about 400.00 a year. I couldn't believe how much cheaper it was here.

Mine went way down when I moved from Chicago too...if I remember correctly it dropped by about $600.

Is the fine really that much?! I guess I took a much bigger risk that I thought when I moved here. Took me about 4-5 months to get my CO plates swapped out with NV plates.

Moved from Mission Viejo, CA in April 2010. Premium went up by at least 30% (maybe more) for same carrier and coverage. Increased deductibles to bring it down some.

I guess it depends on from where you came. We came from New England and premiums went down by about $400/yr.

mine came down substantially from ohio, but slowly creeping up….just tipped $300 for full coverage on a 2012 Veloster for 6 months. i get a lot of discounts, multi car, multi home, no accidents, over 5yrs with progressive… no claims… although my home owners insurance has skyrocketed… almost to what i pay for the cleveland house..

Mine was almost cut in half coming from Pinellas County Florida (St Petersbug/Clearwater) to Las Vegas. Now it's about the same as it was in the Minneapolis/St Paul MN area. It's still high compared to some places but not insanely high like FL.
