Had lodging horror stories at the Excalibur seeing how far down it fell from grace. Dirty, dangerous, worn out, pretty much has become a ghetto.

In the Aria made me nuts with poorly handled reservations. They did things so poorly we were hanging around for 12 hours, almost missed the Jersey Boys and they had to give us the lodging for free. Still ruined out time there though.

Not all buffets are equal or look like the pictures in the posters.

Meaning, there is good and bad there as well.

Life is a party in Thailand, but at some point you must go home, and shower.

Las Vegas is a schoolmarm in contrast, and in truth after awhile, you don't even notice the food or the machines, and you start eating at the out of the way dives, because its that much better.

Can't tell...Was that picture taken on Koval Lane, right behind The Strip, in Las Vegas...or on Koval Lane, Thailand?

I quit drinking because of the fear of a DUI. I'm not saying it due to power drinking and driving, I say it because I had a friend who got busted after drinking two beers (bottles) and driving. I was never a in the house drinker so if there's a small chance of me getting a DUI over something like two beers it's not worth it..If I do slip and go on a a binge it's a one beer maximum.

I don't think you understand the word binge.

I think one beer is a bing not a binge.

As in "let's go bing a quick beer?"

Works for me, might just bing one tonight...

My parents were like tvette's father - drinkers but not alcoholics. Mine had two drinks before dinner every night - without fail (and one before lunch on Saturdays - but only after 12:00 noon - "only alcoholics drink in the morning" said my mother). She always maintained that an alcoholic is someone who, once they begin drinking, cannot stop until they are falling down drunk. If someone here would like to refute that, I would welcome the discussion.

Overindulging at the buffet is a vacation thing. Sense of urgency and all that. I have to eat it all now because I won't be back for X time.

I still enjoy the buffets but in moderation. I KNOW I can go back any time I want. They are right outside my door. I enjoy finding new, great deals and trying new places. The Gold Spike is always a fave for the $6.99 prime rib. My new best find is the 16oz t-bone at the Gold Rush for $6.99. Sign up for their player's card and they will send you a 2-for 1 coupon. I can't even buy t-bone and prime rib for those prices!

Sometimes, I go to the lunch buffet at Main Street Station just for the brisket. Best in Las Vegas! Tried to go yesterday but they had to close the buffet because the POWER was out! I'd never seen that before! A casino with no power. But fear not, the games were running on a generator.

Anyway, you will most likely be fine as soon as you convince yourself you actually LIVE here!

All marriages are a form of gambling, 1 out of 2 end up in divorce.

Wanna hear some horror stories that'll have your toes curling sideways and upwards?????
