I read a terrible story about spraying bugs, etc. Over in Utah a company was hired to get rid of voles. They sprayed too close to the house and the fumes killed 2 little girls, ages 2 and 4. How sad!

That is very sad. That is why as a company you have to make sure your techs are properly trained and doing things right. We had one tech we found out that making his own mixtures of chemicals, very wrong. He was fired right away.

The products from that were probably Fumigation chemicals, which only about 3 companies here in Vegas are licensed for.

We have the state here that does stay on top of things. They can actually stop you while you are driving and test the products that are in your tanks to make sure that you have the right mixture.

Please don't tell me that the voles survived.

Preface: We don't see any bugs inside and have never had a cockroach since moving in here, but my Girlfriend wants the house fumigated when she sees a harmless jumping spider or even a cricket (I put both these outside alive).

Situation: My girlfriend and I are putting in some hardscape in our backyard this weekend. I left a fresh pile of grass against our back fence for a few days and went to bag it up yesterday, but lo and behold it is harboring a cockroach horde. My GF won't get near it, so I bagged it all up by myself. This prompted us to buy a jug of the pump style ant/cockroach/spider spray at Home Depot to kill the bastards near the fence.

Result: I sprayed the perimeter of my house (pump style container is awesome), then my backyard fence and perimeter and I used up about half the jug in the process (8000 sq ft yard total). When I woke up this morning I was greeted by bug genocide. Half the cockroaches drug their bodies onto the concrete to die, four dead black widows around the exterior of the house and assorted lady bugs and other defenseless bugs lie murdered before me and around the exterior of the house.

My girlfriend is overjoyed, but to be honest I'm a little bummed out. I would prefer to keep the outside spiders for bug control and leave the defenseless bugs alone to do their thing outside. The cockroaches are the only thing I really wanted to kill in cold blood. Oh well, I'm sure I will be forced to spray more often now, especially since all our good spiders are dead.
