It was a national issue. There was a big shortage of sheetrock at the height of the housing boom. Given that LV was the epicenter (or at least one of them) of the boom, I can't see that it didn't make ti there.

Yes, the low humidity in Vegas might prevent some of the problems it causes. I'd still never buy a house that had it.

I know of no incident where it was reported to have been used.

So I see no indication it was actually used in the Vegas area.

It is included in the standard disclosures nowadays.

It may also be that it is innocuous in Las Vegas. Needs high humidity to be a problem.

There is no way to tell. Only destructive tests on every panel of wallboard unless you encounter the symptoms.

I am quite convinced it was not widespread...and it may have been non-existent. Nobody is getting sued...and we love to sue here on issues like that.

I don't even know of a report that it got to Vegas. There is only a generic report that some was distributed to Nevada...and again if any quantity someone would get sued.

I have a couple of friends who are attorneys in the defense of construction defects. They tell me they have not heard of any litigation on the subject in Vegas either.

There's nothing wrong with the sheetrock in the homes in Tuscany. They are all higher-end home designs and don't use Chinese drywall or shoddy materials in general.

Also, there have been no special assessments in Tuscany. Perhaps on the condos (I wouldn't know) but certainly not in the regular HOA on homes. The HOA dues have been stable for years and the services and upkeep have been consistently good.
