We are considering moving to Lake Las Vegas full time with a 12 year old starting 7th grade. Are there kids living in the area full time. What schools are they attending? What are the best private schools on this side of town? Middle school and high school? We love the area for vacations...am kind of nervous to move there full time. Would appreciate input. Thanks.

I suggest you spend sometime driving around there and visit with people that live there. You will not notice childen there you will notice mostly retired or childless couples out for walks with their pets. I am sure there some families there but my guess those families are there seasonally and that the home they own is their vacation home.

Here are some links to schools regarding information that may be helpful to you.

Zoning Information - Clark County School District (http://ccsd.net/schools/zoning/zoning/zoning.php - broken link)

The link below is reports on the different schools.

We bought a home in Lake Las Vegas but are still living in Iowa, considering also moving out with 12 yo and 7 yo both boys. Have been looking into schools but haven't decided yet, looked at on-line or private or the public schools although they typically get a bad rap hard to compare it seems...
