I'm interested in moving to vegas. I have been looking online and have made a list of houses that interest me. I have e-mailed a realtor and told them I plan to visit and would like to see the houses when I go out there in June.

The realtor told me that before I can even view any houses, I would need to be pre-approved by a lender. Is this common? I want to actually see the houses and area first.

Default Looking to buy a house

It is very common for a realtor to ask for you to show up with a pre-approval amount. I called my bank and got one mailed to me at my home and took it with me to give the realtor when I met her. Like all of us the realtor does not want to waste time their time. Why should they take someone around that cannot qualify for the houses they are showing them.

I think with prices they are getting a lot of tire kickers. I had to contact 3 realtors before I could even get a reply and I'm a cash buyer.
