I need some advice. I'm renting a home and there is a small patch of grass that needs to be maintained and some bushes along the walkway to the front door. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to cutting shrubs and stuff lol. Guess I'm mostly wondering if anyone knows what something like that would cost to have someone do it? I could always just get one of those reel mowers and some sheers, but the hoa might not like my first go round lol Thanks

Before dropping any cash, check with your landlord or management company first (or your rental contract). It may be covered by them.

There are as many lawn care outfits in Las Vegas as there are lawns. You also might find a neighbor's kid that would do the job. But it's so easy. How small is the lawn? If really small you could actually get a weed whacker and cut it, being careful not to dig up any grass. If you don't mind pushing a mower, that's would be a cheap way to go, and push mowers (IMO) are less stressful on the grass. Pruning a few bushes is also really easy. You'd probably only have to do that once or twice a year. Go see Star Nursery, then make a trip to the Springs Preserve and talk to a master gardener.

If all that is too much for you, I'm sending you, by DM, the name of a nice lady whose lawn service does our work now that I'm out of the game.

Thanks! The lawn is not what I would even call a lawn lol. Its maybe 6ft long at most and 3ft across. Just worried I would screw it up and get my landlord nasty letters from the hoa. Plus I don't want it to look bad either More worried about the bushes. Appreciate the advice think I will give both of those a go!

mod cut:

Angry people make me smile. You should stop wasting electricity and polluting places by driving around blasting metal music if your so worried about things. I'm renting and can't do anything about the tiny patch of grass I have. If it were up to me I would happily put gravel, but since I can't I will think of this post and smile every time I water the yard. I hope you cheer up soon!

Oh and I'll just tell the Air Force we need to go where it rains regularly I'll let ya know how that goes lol.....

I'm pretty sure the Air Force isn't requiring you to water your 6x3 patch of grass. Live somewhere better.

Somebody call the home and have them do a bed check right away.

Oh come on, tell me I'm not entirely logical in my rabid assertion. I could certainly be more tactful in my approach but this is one of those topics that makes absolutely ZERO sense across the board - hence my kneejerk.
