Hunting is a basic human right (for the last 1 million years) and a tradition of my ethnic group. So is self-defense and occasionally insurrection against an out-of-control government. Haven't done the last for a while.

The other is my guest bedroom including 2 semi auto .22's a bolt action 30-06 and my synthetic Thompson .50 cal black powder The last is my sock drawer with my old school Ruger that my grandfather gave me. I have been around guns since I was 8. In my original comment I added "JK" for just kidding but no one got that. I am bringing NO guns with me to Vegas as I think it would be useless. I will take trips home and hunt with my father for that, instead of shooting clay pigeons in the 110-degree desert. Now for protection I could see owning a pistol but there’s a reason I'm moving out of here, I’m tired of the hick bull**** pickup driving lifestyle for a while. Trap shooter I am truly sorry if I had offended you, as I said I hunt a lot I guess I was just being an ass and didn't understand the gun thing in Vegas as to me it is just a totally different lifestyle. For me, I'm moving away from the guns, hunting, fishing. I will miss the venison though. We keep in good with that here.
I am very quick to pass judge men. Why waste time?
If you had said "just kidding" I might have got it. I just have a negative view of New Yorkers on issues like gun control. Even Rudy, who I wanted to see run for Prez, is for gun control. Must be a RINO. But I guess "upstate" New York is different. The lady who cuts my hair is from there so I should know better. She's a biker chick.
I don't want to give the impression that I'm a right wing conservative and into hunting, but I don't want anyone telling me I can't own a gun. I used to hunt, but after killing a few defenseless animals I decided that was no fun. All it did was make me feel guilty, and I didn't like the meat anyway. I'm curious about how you can have all those antlers though when people are usually allowed only one deer a season. If you want to hunt and fish you can sure do it in Nevada. Our western mule deer are larger than those eastern whitetails, but to me they taste like the sagebrush they eat. You don't have to kill skeets in 110º heat either. The guy was just asking. But, it's not hot in hunting season. In fact where them deers are it's really cold and usually snows late in the season, which if they didn't change it on me, is from early to mid October to mid November. You can also hunt elk, pronghorn antelope, quail, doves, geese, ducks, pheasants, wild turkey, sage grouse, and Himalayan Partridge here in Nevada. You can also hunt jack rabbits, mountain lions and coyotes but I don't know why you would...unless it's with a camera.

My main reason for owning a gun is peace of mind. Can you imagine what goes through a burglar's mind when he is in a pitch black house and hears the click-click of a shell being loaded into a sawed off 12 gauge?

It's fun to waste time. And I did say just kidding, read my original post. I can shoot that many dear because I have many family members that allow me to buy tags in there name, and we can get tags for different weapons i.e bow hunt rifle muzzle loaders 2 seasons. I like to be able to step out my back door, walk 10 minutes or atv to my stand and know that Im not far from home. The places where you would hunt are probablly a 2hr drive and a 2 hr hike into the mountains. It would be weird hunting right out in the open too. I didnt mean to start a heated debate, I just thought it was funny because you had me all wrong, but I could see why from my original statement. It just seems that guns in Vegas would be used for the wrong thing like not registered pistol homicides by gangster wanna be 16 year olds. Thats what scares me...

The Clark County handgun registration is idiotic and ineffective. The useless sheriff pushed for it when the state reps almost got rid of it this year. I'm sure no gangsters register, only law-abiding sheep.

Well, actually you could do a one hour to 90 minute drive and be up in some beautiful country where you might shoot a deer, or elk (if you could get a tag), from your Jeep. From things you have said, you are going to be pleasantly surprised when you get here. It's not the way you think it is; but that's understandable. It's a different world than what you're used to, and you'll find you like it if you allow yourself to; and I'm sure you will. You seem like a nice guy and open to new things. I say the things I do sometimes about the east because I'm from the east, and I remember how it was when I moved here. Heck, I looked over my shoulder expecting the sheriff to raid the place every time I was in a casino for the first year. I didn't even know where Nevada was when I got in the car to drive here.

Completlely understandable and I hope your right! I would love to climb some mountains and see wildlife. About the only wildlife I've ever watched in LV were the burrows that walked up to our car when we did the atv rental, we were at this gas station and they just walked right up peeked in the car, LOL. And again I don't mean to break your balls, I'm way more conservative than I am liberal if I were to choose , I guess I just passed judgement on trapper when I first read this thread and I more worried about the life we will have when were there. Some people get scared when they see the wall in my garage but I'll tell you that not one of those dear that died, wen't unsportsman like. Many were with a compound bow which until 2 years ago, I was using the same bow that I had when I was 16. And all the meat was used, either we ate it or it was given to thankfull friends. Buzz, you have to try it breaded and fired like veal,,, unbelievable!!! It kills veal, and no fat. Anyway good chat and ill be there in excatly 13 days!!!!

I've tried deer in lots of ways and I don't like any of it. Give me a good groundhog anytime; tastes like chicken. BTW: I hope I can change your viewpoint on killing animals; especially with bow and arrow. It really hurts to be stabbed and bled to death. At least with a rifle it's quick. Killing small animals isn't sport...it's murder.

WOW, I did not think I was going to turn this into a big debate.LOL
But I enjoy my firearms, I dont hunt much, but I do enjoy shooting sports, target practice, etc.

I also think it is every good citizens right to own, and carry a firearm.(Note Criminals are not considered good citizens)
There does not have to be reason why beyond the US Constitution says it is your RIGHT!!!!

If you choose not to own a gun fine by me, but dont infringe on my rights.

As for gun laws we do not need anymore gun laws if they would just enforce the laws already on the books!!!!

Mike.

Groundhogs are small animals no? Todays bows are so fast that a deer wouldn't know the difference between getting shot with a bullett or an arrow. My bow shoots 310-330 fps depending on how it is set up. The arrow actually plows through the carcus breaking bones, destroying organs, and actually will puncture the skull, so there is no real difference, the deer is going to die. But with a bow it is more sportman like because you are not just pulling a trigger, you have to draw from weird angles making noise, your in a tree so the tragectory is hard to figure out sometimes. I am now against things like KFC where chickens are brutally de-beaked and plucked alive. They are de-beaked so they can't fight back when being plucked, how screwed up is that? The animal never had a chance...

OK, I'm seriously going to become a vegetarian now.

You sound like my wife. She tells me I eat beef and somebody had to kill the cow. I guess my feeling is if it's already dead...

I also believe in the right to arm bears.
