It's funny how we all few the different areas. For me, when we were checking out the different areas, I wanted to check out the NW so we made it out to 95 and 215 and then took the 215 around. As we were getting to close to 215, I kept telling hubby, are we there yet? It seems like we're almost to Mt. Charleston! LOL We quickly realized that this wouldn't be a good fit for us wanting and needing to be closer to the airport.

Hubby has been out there since October while the twins and I were back here and he's spent most of the time in Seven Hills/Henderson area. I think that would've worked well for us too, but he thought it was quite congested getting to work on the 215 and Eastern area. We definitely could've made it work though. Nice area.

I guess what I'm saying is just to get out and explore. See what works for you!

......and many will avoid telling real information regarding their community or area, like for instance the location of the RC pig farm, Republic Services garbage recycling center and the Apex dumpsite. Some of the newcomers are in for a surprise!!!

Let's put it this way, if anyone on these forums takes an opinion so seriously from an anonymous person on a Las Vegas chat forum and buys a house/condo without seeing it, researching it or the area around it first, they are STUPID and deserve what they get if it's in a not so desirable area.

We recently purchased a vacation home in Las Vegas and from So.Cal, too. I would suggest renting first and touring the different areas and then seeing which area is best for your family. We only considered areas with low crime and we we really liked West Las Vegas and Henderson. If you like an area and find a good deal on a house / condo, then I'd buy when you're ready with the prices being so low. Best wishes!

Yes, we are all having fun here, some more than others.!!!!!! I particularly like the cliques here. Oh and the opinions they give out are some of the best on an internet forum (taking a cue from your post above - sarcasm) as if people should take them really seriously!!!

There ya go! You did it all as it should be done. Research, no rushing, seeing things for yourself, knowing where it's right for you...

Congrats on your vacation home and enjoy it!
