Hello,

We are thinking of taking the kids to Las Vegas for our anniversary, but reviews of several of the more affordable and family friendly hotels revealed many bed bug complaints.
I am usually not a big worrier but last year we got a mild case of bed bugs on our move out from the Midwest. Not sure if it was one of the hotels we stayed at or our rental moving trailer, but it was horrifying. In our new home, our air conditioning went out several times in the 115+ temps, and that ended the problem along with lots and lots of laundry washing. So it was only a few months last summer, but I still have a few scars from the bites to remind me.

So fear of getting another set of bed bugs to get rid of is quite frankly enough to keep me away from Vegas for now. We have 4 kids and thats alot of clothing to try and keep sealed up and safe, which I know is the best defense.

If anyone has any word on if this is a real problem, I would be interested to hear?

I was just at the Mirage for a week and had no problem with bugs. Probably not the best place for kids, though I did see some there. Just don't take them
into the casino after 10pm on Saturday night unless you want a lot of questions.

They can't be in the casino at anytime except to go to the room, etc.

EVERY hotel in the world HAS and WILL have bb problems....the only time you will EVER know it isif HAPPEN to get the wrong room....the hotels take EVERY precautionknow to man to prevent this......it ISNT the hotel that is the bedbug spreader....it's the people that come in.

Use caution but remember.....they are PROBABLY in a hotel near YOU...NOT just Las Vegas

I went past the casinos with my baby 16 years ago and YES they want you to just keep going to your destination, someone we were with tried to do slots and even that was an issue!

Have not been back, hate the smoke and tolerate the slots, but we want to see the sights, shows etc.
I agree the bed bugs are an issue everywhere right now, but had heard they were especially bad in Vegas, at the popular and less expensive resorts .
