I am looking at condos in the following complexes or areas. Anyone have any experience with them? Currently live in them? Please give me any suggestions into which are a good place to live or indicate which ones to just stay away from.

What unit number is the one on Lookout Lodge? Is it a plan 1, 2 or 3? These are townhomes, although the Unit 1 is more like a condo.

I think there is only one unit for sale at that building and it is a Unit 1 listed at $60,000.

If you're looking at those, you could look at Solana Del Mar also.
There is a somewhat similar townhome layout at Solana Del Mar as the one on Lookout Lodge. It is also 2 bedrooms over a garage, but the kitchen is larger with more counter and cabinet space.
The prices are a bit higher at Solana Del Mar ($70's instead of $60s for the smallest 1 car garage unit) and the HOA fees are also higher. $105+39 HOA fee plus remaining SID payments plus your own budget for painting and roofs at Courts vs $125 + 95 for HOAs at Solana Del Mar. You get a guard gated golf community for the extra money though and they are only a few years older than The Courts at Aliante. They are on Crimson Crest and Diamond Canyon in Painted Desert 89149.
I'm going to look at those too.

The unit 1 at 6665 Lookout Lodge isn't a great deal because of this: The guy in Unit 2 builds and tests very noisy vehicles out of his garage and nobody in their right mind will buy that unit 1 to live in. I was hoping the unit 2 was the one for sale. It would be great to get rid of that idiot for good.

Where is the "Nazi, nit-picking, HOA" people love to complain about restricting their freedom in this case? Dealing with problem residents like that is part of what people pay HOA dues for.

The guy gets constant fines and keeps paying them. I was told before by an ex-board member that many people keep doing the violations and paying the fines, because they just want to keep doing it. I think they are not right in the head, plus the HOA needs to put a stop to things like that, since the noise factor disturbs more than his immediate neighbors.
