I'd like revise this post. You can fly fish anywhere there is room to cast. I learned on the lawn at Tule Springs, and in a parking lot on East Charleston. But if you want to go "catching", you will need water with hungry fish in it. I prefer "catching" to "fishing".

Back in 2010, I bought a fishing boat from a local home builder to try my luck at Lake Mead. After dozens of trips to the lake fishing, never caught anything. I did however have many great trips with my son on the lake.

The two best spots for kids are pine valley utah and cave lake. Both of these lakes you can look in the water and see the fish, which is great for kids. Get them some polarized sunglasses.
