my wife is at 14.71 at the Cosmopolitan and wants out... Not because of the job itself.. because of the Managers and chaos. Hopefully, when I get insurance (and a real job), she can leave. Loves the people she works with.. but the higher ups don't have a clue what they are doing.

It's nice to have a job you like going to for sure. I am blessed with that and luckily my insurance covers the family. People who have worked there for a while say it sucks compared to before but I think it is ok. I don't have anything to compare it with. I guess if my wife gets insurance we will have to figure out what is best. I think one of the reasons my wife will enjoy working in housekeeping is because she will be working with so many other latins. She got to her interview super early because I dropped her on my way to work and she said everyone was very nice and friendly.

Around $13.80 and have to completed 360 hours before your insured. The health insurance is free but the union dues are $42.50 a month.

Hmmm. In the union does that include insurance for family? Or is that extra?

Husband and kids covered no charge. It is a HMO plan though but the co pays are dirt cheap.

Don't you also get a life insurance policy and some kind of pension...maybe 401k being in the union?

Being in the culinary union is great for families, and you'd be surprised at how many doctors around the valley accept Culinary health insurance. And I agree with you mohave...co-pays are very cheap.

Wow, $42.50 union dues...I remember when it used to be 26.50, lol
