we used to get a lot of storage wars type sellers in OC... I dont see that here.

+1 for driving the 3.5-4 hours to rosebowl/long beach if you are serious about antique swapping, I guess I figured there would be more out here in vegas due to the financial situation. I had heard that vegas had the best garage sales in the nation because of it... and I do find great deals on Criagslist!!!
Which are you saying is all vendor base, BA or OC? Back in the late 80's I used to go to BA and it was about 2/3 individuals selling old stuff and 1/3 vendors selling cheap new stuff, as it approached 50/50 I stopped going. How is it now?

I would say it's about 50/50 or 60/40...

I moved away from L.A. in 2000 -- my favorite swap meet was Pasadena City College for antiques... not sure if it is still good 11 years later. Having moved from Minnesota 6 months ago, that was the hot spot for garage sales although they only have them April through October there. Lots of grandmas (or children of the grandmas) cleaning out decades of stuff out of their attics and basements. Many wonderful treasures could be found for pennies on the dollar. I really miss that. I've yet to find a wonderful garage sale in Henderson. I think the homes are too new and packrats haven't had enough time to accumulate much that is wonderful.

That being said, I love living in Henderson even if the garage sales are so-so!
