Does anyone know about the amusement park/water park that is suppose to open in 2013 somewhere near the 215(I heard)? Is this true?

In terms of amusement parks, there's always Adventuredome at Circus Circus.

And most of the California parks are only a quick day trip away.

I live in CA now & I am considering moving back to LV. As hot as it is in LV, it would be nice to have another Wet & Wild! Water parks are fun for all!

WE had one and it did work for several years. Then somebody else wanted the land it was on to build something new, and then the great depression hit, so it never materialized and left us without our popular Wet n Wild.

MGM had a theme park which lasted quite a while, but was never a big draw, so the closed it and built vacation time shares or something.

I loved Wet & Wild.

I think the main reason why it's gone is because it didn't fit the "new image" of Las Vegas (sexy adult playground). In the mid 2000s, the city wanted to eliminate the family-friendly image as much as possible (we started seeing all those "What Happens In Vegas" commercials, Treasure Island turned into TI with a sexy Sirens show, and most of the other cutesy theme hotels modernized).

I understand the motivation for wanting W&W off the strip, but they should have moved it out to the suburbs instead of eliminating it completely.
