At 25-35k, you are in a 1br in a "fair" location. 50k for 1br puts you in a better location (aliante etc)

You will not find anything that you would want to live and retire in for $25K-$35K. You might find something very small under $40K that could be nice with another $10K of fixing up.
How did you come up with that price range?

Try looking in the southwest section. I am looking at Coronado Palms.

Check out Spring Valley condos/townhomes/duplex, single story, 2 story units old and new. With your price range you may be able to find 1 br units and if there are 2 br units, it may be old and it need lots of work. Goodluck!!

There are some 2 bd. 1 ba. condos in your price range at Mar A Lago in Desert Shores. They may need some updating, but from the pictures, they don't look too bad.

Those were ones I meant. Neighborhood and complex seems nice enough, but they mostly all need interior rehab and likely all new appliances, water heaters, a/c, furnace, new floors, paint, countertops and more. The cheapest units likely need all of that plus cabinets. If you do all that, you might as well replace all the lighting and plumbing fixtures while you're at it. Easily another $10K+ over purchase price to get them comfortably nice even if you go with low end cabinets and laminate counters.

I actually want to do a complete reno and decorate it to look like an exact replica of the Jungle Room in Graceland. I think chicks would dig it!
