I bounce between NYC and LV, and I pay a average of $500 per visit to rent a car,
Now I have a excellent car in NY which I will be driving out here once I am fully moved,
but until then, do you think its worth buying a used car here, then selling it once I am here for reals?

Whats your opinions?
(and hint, if you have a cheap car or suv for sale DM me)

Jonathan

What sort of driving do you do when you're here "for unreals?"

It would be hard to give an opinion without knowing.....

1)How long until you move to LV full time? and

2) How many $500 car rentals will there be in the meantime?

I'm sure you have thought about this, but I'd rather have the car in LV and take cabs/subway in NYC.

It might be worth it to buy something, but yeah, I guess it really just depends on how long you will be in your current situation.

Good questions, I guess I will be here again (and again) 8 more times before I am here,, HERE!!
I would be using the car to pick up boxes, furniture, stuff for the house and doing mostly local trips.

What is your average daily cost for the rental, including all taxes and fees? You might be able to get as low as $9-12/day before taxes and fees through Priceline. If you buy a car, you have to factor in the cost to either 1) leave it at the airport, or 2) taxi/limo to/from your Las Vegas house.

more like $20 a day, then almost $200 in taxes and fees
so no matter how we slice it, its back to $500 per rental..

I figure spending $2000-3000 for a car is in line.
