Yeah, didn't think you meant people like me. LOL
Age discrimination is a fact! Thank God I make my living as a writer. It is a field where your age does not matter.
Darlin Im rollin up on 70 and overweight so there

Amd I have 3 reasonably newly hire people in my office that are close to the same age and had one lady a few years ago that was 76 when she rejoined the work force and worked til she was 85....she had been Secretary to Howard Hughes before that....

Tagalog...I personally know 7 people who moved to Vegas and had jobs within 3 weeks, my wife had 6 offers within a week and I had plenty of offers as well.....So I can argue by your way of doing it and say nothing is wrong, I am a realist though. I know times are tight and work is hard to find, but there are jobs. You may have to bite the bullet for a year and work a job you normally would not, but you get along. As I wrote, tourism is up and people are returning, the housing market is weak, but you can get a heck of a deal. Vegas will be fine, if it takes 2 years or more, it will be fine. All I can hope for is that it gets back to the point it was before the boom when it was a nice place to live as it was not overly crowded..

Maybe the casinos could replace the rugs and spruce up while they're closed and waiting for the "great compromise."

This probably happen years ago when companies were taking anyone off the street. I seriously doubt this is happening during this economic time. The RJ just did an article on the tons of people trying to find jobs with no luck. In 2007 they said it would take Vegas 2 years to recover. Well 4 years later, property is still dropping and we have the highest unemployment for a city in the United States. Vegas will recover, but not in our lifetime.

No we do not. Riverside/San Bernadino is higher. And much of the cities of central CA.

I would think Las Vegas is doing reasonably well aside from the construction industry.

The Vegas recovery is well underway. Just today they announced that taxable sales were up 7.2% over last year...and that is a reasonably good sized increase.
